jus finished swap, wont START
we just finished swapping a 90 d16a6 into a 88 crx HF. when we turn the ignition on for the first time, the fuel pump comes on strong but there is a spark somewhere under the dash near the fuse box. the engine cranks but nothing.
try to start the car for a second time, and the fuel pump doesnt come on. so i change the main relay to a known working one and it still doesnt come on. then i notice that when the ignition is turned on the check engine light comes on, and stays on. in addition to that, there are no codes on ECU. i check the helms, and it says that it could be a bad ECU, so i change the ECU to a known working one and still same thing.
then i try something else listed in the helms which says to check the no. 14 fuse (10A) in the under dash fuse box which is alternator solenoid i believe, and two other fuses in the engine bay. the no. 14 fuse is blown, and the two in the engine bay are fine. we replace the no. 14 fuse, and turn the ignition on, and it blows again!
im pretty damn lost and confused right now. why would this happen, and would this affect the fuel pump? there is voltage to the fuel pump and the fuel pump is brand new. anyone have any ideas?
thanks

Start with checking all the grounds, then end with checking all the powers.
Make sure you don't have 8 guage wire where you're suppose to have 16 and visa versa.
Make sure your grounds aren't too long.

The power feed from that fuse is going somehwere it shouldn't. Start by disconnecting the ECU and then see if the fuse blows. If it still blows disconnect the engine wire harness and than check again. Or disconnect everything first then turn the key on and start plugging **** in till you hear a "pop".
