question regarding a starter.
my car will not start . it just clicks and clicks and clicks, but I have interior lights and radio. We can start the car by popping the clutch. I recently replaced the battery and altinator about 3 weeks ago. The only think else I can think of is the starter. Is there anything else that would cause this besides the starter?
thanks

well I tried one for a 90 integra from autozone and it had some differences. I put it on and it no worky. It wouldn't even click at all????
Try again. Maybe they gave u the wrong starter. Also, just cuz the starter is remanufactured to like new, doesnt mean its good. i have gotten bad starters right out of the box.
yeah I'm going to try one from a 94 up del sol. I returned the 1st one and exchanged it. It wont be in until sept 29th. so I am gonna try mine of my crx just for sure. I thought any b series starter will work ? anyone got any pictures of the differences between them

The 90-93 integra starter will work. I am using a 91 integra starter with my b16 tranny. But, it MUST be from a 5-speed. The automatic starters are different. any b-series starter SHOULD work (using b-series logic) but I've never tried using a different one than the 90-93 integra one. To be safe, get one for a 91 integra 5-speed.

don't forget to check the fuses under the dash (mainly the starter and alternator fuses), as well as the main fuse box under the hood (mainly the ecu and battery fuses). Also, make sure your grounds at the tranny, valve cover, and thermostat are strong and clean.
assuming that you know how to hook up a starter correctly, the one purchased from a local auto parts store should still kick out and turn if you wire it directly off the car. If the starter never turns, it could be a combination of a bad ignition switch, blown fuse, bad grounds, or a bad solenoid. Most Honda starters that go bad are just the solenoids. Which engages the armature that kicks out the gear. The motor assembly only spins the gear. It takes more power to spin than to kick. Which is why some people hear the infamous "CLICK" of the starter. Hopefully that helps out a little bit.
update: well I tried my starter on my brothers car and no go. It doesnt click, turnover, or make any sound. I eventried hooking it up off the motor and trying it. nothing. I checked starter, altinator fuses and they are all good. I am getting 12.7 volts to the starter. Is there anything else I can look at?
update: well I finally got my brothers car to start tonight with the original starter. The only think I can think of happened (I messed with) was either 1) cleaned trans housing where starter connects to trans. 2) messed with/recondishoned the cable going from the battery to the starter. Any ideas, I am putting my money on option 2.
thanks for everyones help.
