Default TIRE Question

Whats so good about slick tires, when i go to the race spot at in&out or sumthen. The racers talk bout puttin on slick tires b4 runnin cuz its fair or wutever, dont tires wit grip is better then slick, or slick means differently cuz i think its smooth, flattening the tire is good at racing, wssup wit the slicks?

Slicks are another way of talking about tires specifically designed for competition use, they have no tread to them whatsoever, and are not street legal.

they are made of a different material than normal tires making them much stickier than say... a bald street tire. They are good on flat paved dry surfaces... any thing else and you are asking for trouble
