Can't get Prelude started. Need help ASAP.
Ok....here is the senario:
99 Prelude (auto). Motor locked up and we order a JDM H22. The motor that came in was OBD1, but we converted everything over to make the motor OBD2 friendly.
The car will crank over, but won't stay started for longer than 1-2 minutes.
We have tried everything. New plugs, plug wires, dist., coil, oil pump, main relay and the motor has great compression.
No codes are popping up once we start it.
I don't know what else to try.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also....
The car sat for a good 5-6 months before we go it.
So we thought it could be a gas problem, but we changed the gas and still the same results.
This is good spark, good fuel pressure and everything.
It just refuses to stay started.

Faulty ignition switch perhaps ? there has been a recall on our cars and the dealers will put you a new switch in for free if you contact them.

I will have to check into that tomorrow, but would a faulty ignition switch cause the car to shut off the second the car starts?

Tried 2 different TB's so far. So I doubt it's the MAP.
Thanks though.
Anyone else wanna chime in on this?

The ecu is the stock ecu.
The engine just shuts off as if you turned the key off. Not like a stall or anything.
Sometimes the car won't even start, but it turns over fine. It's quite odd and has 6 of us stumped.
We don't really know what else to try. We have double checked all wires and connections, checked all fuses and relay's and everything else that we could think of.

your map sensor is on your firewall, you're refering to your throttle position sensor which can cause problems that almost feel the same. Good luck I hope you get it figured out and not have to take it anywhere. Try reseting your computer if you haven't already.
a stock 5th gen ecu? or stock 4th gen ecu? If you're using the stock 5th gen then did you switch over the oil pump assembly to the OBD1 motor because of the change in positions of the cylinder position and TDC sensors

A faulty switch causes the car to cut out at any intermittent time, if the contacts do not maintain contact all the time when started it is just the same as switching it off you break that ignition circuit needed to keep the car firing.
