how low is low???
alright i am thinking that one of the first things i want to do to my hatch is a sweet suspension. anyone know any good combonations??? i was thinking something like tokiko 5-way's with ground control coilovers. i'd like to see some pics to kinda judge on how low i'd like my car. i was thinking about three and a half in. let me know about some of ya'lls and help me make the best decision.
thanks
thanks
most guys in here will say dont lower more then 2-2.5 in...but personally im dumped 4 in up front and almost 4 in the back.i have gc coilovers or maybe they are fake gcs i duno and kyb gr2 struts.

I have a HD lip on front and I have an inch of clearance in front for a daily driver. But then again it is a $20 lip
Here are some pics of my setup with brake ducts. From Home Depot of course.

heres mine, the lip sits 3" from the ground. i personally dont mind the ride. you eather hate it, or love it. but also if you live in a area with some CRAPPY roads, i wouldnt dump it, btw, i drive alot of miles to
I live in Pa known for huge *** pot holes. And it is true you have to like your car being low and I do.
When WTDR gets back up I will show my pics
the brake duct shows the true perspective

Nice budget setup, but I might suggest you change the opening of the ducting. You will actually pull a great deal more air if you allow the air moving laterally across your bumper to enter the duct. In fact, more air enters that way than head-on. Here's an example in a similar air-dam (mine):

Sorry to jack the thread.

You're going to need some awfully stiff springs to be riding around that low without sitting on the bump stops all the time. I have 500 lbs-in front / 600 lbs-in rear (in my race car, not streetable!) and I'm not even that low because I don't have enough travel, even with the high spring rates - I need to pick up a pair of GC upper mounts for the front, and I am considering getting my Konis shortened.
If you get Ground Controls, make sure to get the GC upper mounts - they increase suspension travel an extra inch. EFs don't have enough travel as it is, and lowering the car just takes away from that.

travis, do you have a link to a write-up thread or anything about your brake ducts? I read about your trick fittings that aim the air at the rotor, but I didn't get to see how you had the rest of the system set up. I am running an identical setup to Rostr02's Home Depot specials, and I am looking for a more efficient and durable method to do these (while keeping costs low of course
).

I think you can see most of my setup in that thread since it grew to a few pages. Otherwise feel free to PM me with questions. I don't want to take this thread too far OT. FYI, my airdam with the duct openings was less than $40.

what the hell we are now talkin about lips...just go with a 1.5-1.8" drop and youll be fine. I have tokico springs which everybody in here say they suck i think there okay i wish it was a little bit stiffer in the rear. Front is perfect the back is kinda bouncy but its a okay ride with stock shocks. I hardy scrape unless its real steep. I wanna try h& r sport springs i heard good stories about them. hope that helps.
