maybe if you put some stage 3 cams in there, an SMSP header, 2.5 inch exhaust, test pipe, adjustable cam gears dyno tuned, hondata (or whatever standalone system you would want) p&p'd head, blah blah blah.

yeah it will make 230whp, mebbe wit a turbo on it,

and just so that you know, an f22b head is pretty much the same as the h23 head, so this "frankenstien" motor you created is pretty much a stock h23, hehe

This swap was just made recently by another HT member. He should have a full write up on it shortly.

It is indeed from the prelude, but beware Honda also produced a h23 dohc vtec engine (blue valve cover) that was in the SiR accord wagon.

will not make that without SERIOUS work..........

H23 bottom end, F22 crank, H22 head with Jun 3 cams, P&P, Accord Type R intake mani, nasty big injectors, SMSP prototype header, etc will make that though

BTW you will not put out 230Hp by just the head swap.

yeah there's already a write up on a guy that did the F22 block and h22 head (vtec but same head size/shape). He used it for a turbo setup cuz the blocks are dirt cheap and he wouldn't care if he blew it. Last I checked he didn't have a dyno yet but he had some serious problems with it.

He was doing all sorts of crazy ****. Blocking oil drain holes on the block, fabricating his own coolant hoses cuz the head stuck out further, counting teeth on the sprockets, vtec not kicking in, check engine lights, etc.

Not to discourage you where there's a will there's a way, but I hope you got a second car in the meantime.

Mechanically it can be done. With the H23 head all you have to do is switch the lower timing gear as for oil drains if you use the F23 headgasket you will be fine. With the H22 head you will have to plug a couple of drains, that will not affect engine performance. If you choose to use an H22 head you will need to install a knock sensor since the F22 doesn't have one. As for the H23 head on the F22 you don't need to plug anything. I did on mine only because the original test fitment was done with an F22 headgasket. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Schmitey &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> Last I checked he didn't have a dyno yet but he had some serious problems with it.

Thats why Vtec will not work once he throws a CEL. As far as counting teeth on the spocket thatwas to find out which one will work.
The bottom line is that it runs.

Good luck

I heard you can put a b18c5 head on an h22 block and get 320 whp, but I'm just pulling that out of my ***.
