Default Mystery headers....need some info

I got these headers off e-bay and they are clearly not Mugen but i expected that. I want to know what you guys think about them. I can return them but it has to be in 2 days so i need info now. The inlet pipes are 1.5in and the outlet to the cat is 2in. They were only 170 with shipping so if they are good ill keep them.
Here are some pics...tell me if i should keep them.

did you buy those as a replacement? or were you trying to actually make your car produce more HP?

Kiss that Mugen sticker good-bye once those headers get HOT.

I have seen products on eBay listed as names like Megen, "Mugen STYLE", etc.

I think what you got is a DC Sports replica header. I've seen them go for around $85 and $30 shipping.

I would expect gains similar to the DC Sports header.

It is ONE HEADER! Not two headers. V8/V6s, have two headers b/c they have exhaust ports on both sides of the motor.

As for your mugen style header, for $170, it's probably garbage, but hey, it sure does look shiny.

next time try asking for people's thoughts on something before you buy it if you are unsure of its quality. asking prior to the purchase could have saved you some cash, there are many headers ("s" as in different companys - not more than one on your engine ) out there that would have probably cost less and yielded you like gains.

but, if you like it and you're keeping it, more power to you, let us know about that dyno.

"cost less" -&gt; i doubt it, he got this header for $170 which is hard to beat... At least it's worth as a replacement part.
To me it looks 100% like a ceramic coated DC.

yes - "cost less"

http://motors.search.ebay.com/...ridZ2

there are several in the first page alone that "cost less".

like andyd mentioned in this thread - <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by AndyD &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

which was the point i was piggybacking on - whether you buy a $170 dc replica or a $90 one - the gains bewteen the two are not going to be earthshattering - most likely not even noticable...for the exception on the mugen power logo.

and if you were to also search in the classifieds on this site alone - you could find a header for sale of higher quality than the ebay special (though it is used) for the around the same price.

edit: btw, i'm not saying $170 wasn't a low a price to pay for a header, i'm just saying maybe some research first could have allowed him to spend his money better - its better to ask should i buy this than should have i bought this?

he's already gotten the lecture about "getting what you pay for"

as far as the header itself, the collector looks smallish, and it prob won't produce much hp.

I give him a day of driving around before that coating probably starts bubbling off. If it were me it would already be in the box being sent to UPS

I realize that since its an inline four its called a header, singular not plural, and it is gramatically incorect to say headers because it is a single exhaust manifold. But i really just dont give a damn...so lay off, this isnt english class and its not a big deal

Looks like a DC sports replica to me. I have a DC ceramic header and it looks almost exactly like that. Not a bad header for the price though. Truth is though that for twice the price of a DC header, you could definitely get something better. Meh.
