Default best high speakers to get

im looking at getting some highs for my car. i want to get components for the front, and just the same speakers for the back, without the tweeters and crossover, what are some good speakers for the money,im not trying to spend more than 400 for the components. but anywhere around that price would be good. and im looking at buying a amp for these speakers also

are u going to run an amplifier and would u consider buying used speakers? if yes to both questions, 400 would be able to get u a nice set of focal polyk. they dont sell seperate midbass's unless special order, and it would cost an arm and a leg to buy one. my suggestion would be to run a front stage only and no rear fill. the main reasons being that rear fill is not needed and 1 pair is enough to fill ur car and then some. if u need me to go into more detail about front stage, let me know because i dont want to do a write up if u are not interested.

i recommended the focals simply because of the tn-45 tweeter, i find that they are very very detailed when compared to other speakers in the same price range. there is a member(GSteg) here on this board that would agree with me on it, but unfortunately he doesnt come on this board anymore. the tn-45's came with the older models. with the newer model focals, they replaced the tn-45 with the tn-51. the models that came with the tn-45 were 130k, 136k2, 165k, 165k2. the 130 and 136 were 5 1/4"s and the 165's were the 6.5"s. the difference between the k and the k2 is a phaze plug, which was found in the k2's for better mid response.

let me know if u have any other questions.

Focal 165k2

I had them in my integra and loved them. Tn-45 tweeter was a bit harsh at first but when i get it dialed it it was beautiful. Very accurate set of speakers.
