The inertia switch is met in:
Civics from 1996
Accords from 93
Insight
Legend from 96
S2000
HRV
CRV
and finally in 5 gen prelude from 1997
Edit: I checked the US manual and it seems that switch is not present in your cars.
I'm sure it's not in 4gen Prelude.
The inertia switch's purpose is to shut off the fuel pump in case of an accident, thus preventing fuel from being pumped all over the vehicle if there is a leak in the system.
It is useful when you have your car rolled in the accident...
