NO sounds from speakers...only subs
I installed my new pioneer head unit (Deh-p4600) and it works great except that only my sub works...i dont get any sound from the speakeres but when the cd is in the sub will sound...any ideas on what to do?
So does the subs work with the radio?.. Did the speakers work before this radio install?.. Is the radio brand new?.. Beings its a 4600 thats current for this year.. I need more details.. Sounds like if the speakers worked fine before this radio then the output of the amplifier of the radio is bad.. Even though the subs would work the amp may be bad inside the deck.. Either that or you have a speaker that is grounded out and something is wrong with the speakers inside the car..
Easiest way to trouble shoot this is pull the radio out.. Disconnect all speakers from the radio.. Grab a speaker that you know works and hook it up directly on this radio with only this speaker connected to the radio.. If this speaker then by itself works then you know you have a grounded out speaker inside the car..
let me know if you have any other questions..

thanks for the advice...everything worked before the install...well all the speakers...sub doesnt work with the radio only cd...ill check later...thanks
I had the same problem. My subs would work but none of the speakers worked. I just assumed it was the cd player so I took it back to Wal-Mart and got another. It turns out that Pioneer has problems with the internal amps quiting. I am on my third cd player and now it works fine.
actually i am not using the power antenna..i am using the remote from the amp that connects directly to the lead comming from the unit labeled amp remote....i got it all working tonight..it was a bad internal amp...took it back got a new one..its all good now

I think 95civiccoupejdm is right.

If that was the case of him using the Power antenna wire then the subs would only work with the radio and not the CD player.. He said it worked the opposite.. Hence that it would send a 12volt signal when the Radio portion of the radio is being used.
