Default Reupholstering CRX Si seats...need opinions.

Alright, I have a shop that'll do it for about $200. I can choose from all kinds of patterns in cloth or vinyl. I was thinking about doing the side bolsters and head rests in black vinyl and the centers with a patterned grey cloth. I believe this is how JDM seats are. Should I do red stitching? (car is red)

how about you reuse the center fabric, and redo the bolsters with your choice of material. so as to keep the factory like appearance.

I thought about that but the center fabric shows signs of wear as it's 16 years old and I thought it might look funny coupled with brand new vinyl. I was just going to get a similar looking cloth.

Haha, yeah I know and I do want your seats because of the touch of red in the later Si seats but your seats aren't perfect and have 13-14 year old cloth too. For $80 more I can just have my seats reupholstered and restuffed how I want it. I have used this place before....check it out.

$200 for both seats? Thats a hell of deal if their quality of work is good. See if they have any other seats they've done sitting around the shop you can look at to see what the quality looks like.

I just posted a picture of their work. They did those seats in Alcantara for my M3. Front and back for $500 when other shops wanted $1000-2000. It was certainly the best value. So what do you guys think? red stitching or not?

i'm partial to no red anything but since your car is red it could work... do you have any other red in your interior? i only like the red stitching when there are other things in the interior that have red in them. but that is my personal opinion.

$200 for both seats sounds like a great deal btw...

and yes, JDM SiR seats have vinyl outers with cloth center, red stitching in the vinyl and red stripes (different from USDM) in the cloth center. Other JDM seats are different. i have EF7 seats and they are all cloth.

How about a nice cloth [something that looks somewhat OEM if they have anything available] on the inner fabric, and do the outside in a plain black tweed.

And if you have a red exterior definitely do a red stitch

$200 is a heck of a deal.

Are those EDM seats?

Or USDM seats redone to look like them?

They look great.

Did you use new foam inserts from Honda? Or they were just custom cut/fit by the shop that did them?

Looks good man. So you just did black vinyl altogether? I think I will do vinyl with cloth centers.

The best junkyards are the pick-you-parts that have FLAT rates.

Some junkyards will charge $4 for a van seat but charge $100 for a Honda bucket seat; they know they can charge that much.

The places with set prices charge a flat rate for ANY seat, and it's usually cheap. Those places rock.
