Default idle prob.

im not sure what it is but here is the problem.

after driving i would put it in neutral (or on the clutch), the idle would drop to 1500k or 2000k and stays there! i tap the gas pedel a little bit then the idle drops bak to 1100,1200.....

i try to see if the thing next to the throttle body(where it hooks up to the throttle line) and it seems like it dont go bak all the way....i CAN push it back and the idle would go back to normal....but i dont know whats making it stuck... WD40 work??

ya put a little grease on that lever.

it also might be the butterfly in the throttle body... it might be really dirty and it is getting stuck. clean it out.

I've had this happen when i havent used my car for a year. no biggie

take off your intake and look at the butterfly. if it has a lot of black buildup on the outer edges of it, then you need to clean it out. when i cleaned mine, i took off the 4 bolts to remove the throttle body and sprayed it with brake cleaner and then wiped it down. look at that first and see if it works.

hrmm..

next time it's idling @ 1500-2000 rpm, put your foot UNDER the gas pedal and pull it out a little, see if that does anything

my car has an idle problem, and when I put my foot under the pedal to pull it out, it fixes it. problem is that i have to do this everytime i come to a stop, or the idle just sits at 1500-2000 rpm. anyone have a clue as to what the problem is? FYI, I already cleaned out the throttle cable and my idle is fine when I initially start the car. Thanks!
