we put my block together and the pistons (JDM Type-S) pop up out of the block... question inside!

the piston doesnt pop out... but the dome part is sticking out above the block when the pistons are at the maximum height. so my question is... will they hit the valves?
im pretty sure people have done this before but i was just wondering if it's always like this?
oh and its h23 crank and rods with JDM H22 Type-S pistons. so if any of you have that setup then id really appreciate your input.

I thought the S pistons were floating wrist pin and the H23 rods aren't....so how'd ya do that?
Its fine if the dome sticks above, as it pretty much always will with an 11:1 piston.

uh...the dome is supposed to stick out of the block...
can you measure the piston to deck clearance? thanks.
(outer edge of piston at TDC to top of block)

h23 rods were rebushed. they are now compatible with floating pistons
satan_srv: if i go over to my mechanics house tomorrow or the next day i shall measure that. (and thanks for breaking it down for me... im still learning the official terms of the engine hahaha). oh and i realize they were supposed to stick out i guess the dome just looked bigger when the pistons were installed in the block rather than outside the block.
i will also retrieve my memory stick from my sisters apartment before i go over there b/c she stolenated her memory stick back from me hahah

I measure the compression height of some H22 pistons I have at 1.223" and my H23 pistons at 1.193". That is a difference of 0.030". On my H23 block I get H23 pistons 0.012" in the hole. So through a little math the Type-S pistons should be about 0.018" out of the hole in an H23 VTEC. That is of course at the edge of the piston and not at the center. But that is just calculation so if you take the block to get it checked it would be great to get real data. Let us know...
