Aw damn....Tranny....not throw-out bearing
Well, I didn't quite understand transmissions so, I took the car to a shop and they went with me on the test drive.......The throw out is active when the clutch is depressed.....that is when I would hear the noise....its not noisey when the clutch is depressed......it makes noise when I am driving in all gears.....doesn't change when turning from side to side.......mech thinks that it is one of the main bearings in the tranny itself......so, I guess that I am gonna have to purchase another tranny pull the exsisting one and then rebuild it. Anyone in SoCal wanna give me much needed hand cause my broke *** still lives in an appartment and I don't have the resources to do the swap at home?
Cliff notes: Throw-out bearings make noise when the clutch is depressed.
Edit: So it isn't the throw out.....its inside the tranny.

Yup but not as much....it gets louder the faster the tranny spins.....really loud when downshifting from 3-2.

BTW, congradulations on the finished engine......how did the head work out? Did you get it redone or get a new head?
I've got a similar thing going on with my '90 Civic Si. If I let the clutch out in neutral in my garage, I can hear a really nasty raspy noise. A Honda shop I trust guessed it was the bearing on the input shaft. Trouble is, it's the last thing to come out of the case, soooo... big labor expense. They guessed maybe $500. It isn't bad enough to hear while driving, so I'll keep going until the clutch needs replacement. It's due any time now with over 238,000 miles on the factory original.
Are you gonna send the other to port flow? When ya get the funds? You should have your friend write up a reciept for the head and then go to the place that fudged up your last one and give them the reciept and tell them they owe ya the money. If not, I know threatening to take them to the better business bureau would change there minds.
I have had this same problem for 50k+ miles. still hasen't failed! I have thought about fixing it. but why? I can tell all the ricers I have a racing trans w/straight cut gears!
