**PICS**CUSTOM FAB'd COMPTECH ICEBOX LID***
This is my most recent CF project I did for a customer's 97 CW ITR. He asked me to cover his Comptech Icebox lid, so instead i fab'd a removeable "shell" that fits over the actual lid in case he ever wanted to remove it. Pics were taken w/ it on my stock airbox to get an idea of what the installed product will look like. I used the lid as a male mold, worked the first layer smooth, then wrapped it w/ a second layer and then coated w/ about 4 cans of high-temp clearcoat. Lots of wetsanding and recoating (done the backyard-way; no vacuum-bagging....yet). The spark-plug cover was also made using the same method and was my 1st attempt, so it's not as perfect as what you would see if it were done using a female mold/vacuum bagged. I'll update this thread as more projects are completed. CF sunroof-glass replacements (keeps the functionality of stock sunroof) and factory CF airboxes are in the works, just waiting for VB equipment to arrive.

thanks guys; the reason the parts look gold is because there are so many layers of clearcoat that when cured turns a little gold.
i actually kind of like the look; it almost in a way looks like kevlar in person. I'm sick of trying to use clearcoats tho, hence the vacuum bagging system on the way.....

plumbing section of home depot. I believe it's intended for water lines in kitchen sinks/refrigerators. I also used it for my breather tube running from the valve cover to the intake arm. Don't try to use it for brake booster lines tho. I did and it collapsed, and like a dumbass i threw away my stock brake booster lines so i had to use metal hardlines- you can see them in the pics next to the MC(the chrome looking tubes). Also a HDPM (Home Depot Performance Mod).
