Dash brake light problem
the brake light on my dash came on a few days ago and I can't figure out what it is. Before anyone says it - yes I checked the brake fluid it's full and there are no leaks in the system anywhere. I've checked the drum brakes in the back and they're fine, the sensor on the resevoir moves up and down freely which doesn't leave me much else to look into. Does anyone know what else I should look at? I want to try and test the sensor for the brake fluid but I'm not sure what kind of readings I should expect to see.
I'm pretty sure the brake light on the dash is your e-brake sensor and has nothing to do with the hydraulics or the front discs. Dismantle the center console and check the e-brake sensor on the e-brake itself.

Sorry, but the brake light also tells you when your brake fluid is too low. Thats what those little wires coming out of the resovoir are for. It also tells you when your ebrake is engaged.

If the wires on MC cap are broken and not making connection it will give you a brake light and I know this sounds stupid but it happened to me my cap went bad and it kept giving me a brake light and my cap was only 2 months old, I tore my car apart looking at the ebrake sensor and fluid levels, and finally swap a MC cap and the light shut off, don't just look at the ebrake sensor like I did

I'll check that out. Is there a way to test it to see if it's bad without getting a different one?

Could be something with the ebrake too. Why not just replace the pads for 10 bucks and count that out.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Cause I'm doing the rear disc brake conversion in the next few weeks - I don't like maintaining drum brakes
