Default Do i need a camber kit?

I just purchased H&R sports for my integra and i was wondering if you guys think i'll need a camber kit. My friend showed me a great trick to use on my rear wheels and says it works flawlessly.

http://home.earthlink.net/~civ....html

So i guess my question is do you think i'll need a camber kit for my front.
Drop: 1.75" or if you have any experience in this area.

Your help is greatly appriciated.
thanks.

if it worked for your buddy then give it a try, but if you dont wanna wear out your tires faster, then get some

With that mild of a drop, you dont need a camber kit. You will however need an alignment.
Its a very common misconseption that camber wears tires badly. Toe is the #1 tire eater.
I have run as much as 2.2* (for 4 months) camber and had very little camber wear. I now run 1.7 and no problems. Ask for the toe to be set 1/16th" out on each side.

A 1.75" drop will noticably affect camber and it will eventually eat your tires. Sure it won't eat them like when your toe is off, but it still does affect wear. For your vehicle to ride correctly I would suggest that washer trick (I used it on my car and it works great) and then get a front camber kit online for like $80.

I rode on my last set of tires for 40K miles, ~3" drop on H&R Sports (yes Sports, yes it was a 3" drop, don't ask me why, H&R Sport springs suck @$$ IMHO), -2.5 camber in front, -2.0 in back, toe in spec at all times.

here's my experience with HR Sports

when i installed them..car tracked ok, and didn't pull too much, so i was like whatever, i dont feel like dropping 80 more dollars for an alignment [only place that would work on lowered cars charged 80...bastards]

well anyhow...4 weeks later...tires were absolutely gone, and this is all local >5 mile trips, i was at college, and just didnt look at my tires that much, till one day i left the wheel cocked all the way to the left and saw my belts...

well i didnt have the money for a camber kit...so i got my toe set straight [which was way the **** off...but almost dead even on both sides...which is why it tracked pretty straight]

9000 miles with -3 camber...zero uneven wear...

just get your alignment done

well it will start showing wear with THAT much camber... at -2.5 my tires started showing wear around 15K miles, so I flipped them around on the wheels to get more life out of them because I couldn't afford new tires at the time.

Now with GC's I'm probably going to get adjustable control arms front and rear so I can dial in my camber to around -2 in front and -1.5 in back.

Hey guys, im considering a relatively considerable drop, not quite slammed y0 But maybe like 2.0-2.5 inches. Something that a "race" spring would give, like the h&r or neuspeed. I dont mean to thread hijack, it is on topic. Now my question is, generally, after what amount of drop would one need a camber kit, so that you wont have unnessecary tire wear?
Thanks,
Ben

I'm running with my stock 14" wheels that came with my LS and I just lowered my car today. Somone replied and said to "Ask for the toe to be set 1/16th" out on each side." What exactly is that? Do you guys recommend that too? Your input would help. aloha

hardly any wear...take some hard corner at 20mph or 25, or 30....your tires will last for 1month lol

lowering wears out tires most at cornering with some speed
