Default Spark plug issue

I was changing the plugs on my 97 mt and on the 4th cylinder noticed the spark plug wire and seal were detached from the plug and when I did remove the wire and seal there were bits and pieces of the rubber seal still in around the plug in the cylinder. If I remove the plug then all those pieces will fall into the cylinder. Does anyone know how to clean it out or if those little pieces will do major damage if I let them fall in?
