Ls Vtec or B20vtec?
hii guys it's come that time to decide on my engine swap.. hmm i dont want a typical GSR engine i was aiming for a LSvtec or a B20vtec .. umm wanted some power but didnt want to spend as much on a GSR .. i did some research found out that it was a little more expensive.. soo i came to this question.. which would u guys consider? a LSvtec or a B20vtec?

I agree with SilverCIVIC96.

i would also say b20z/vtec
just by throwing in some different things at

say you got a b18b block/ gsr head:
9.73 CR
1834 cc
now if you got b20z block/ gsr head:
10.1 CR
1973 cc
you will get higher compression and a 2 L motor going the b20 route

I have an ls/vtec in my 91 integra, the crank in the 1.8 block is alot stronger than the crank in the 2.0 block, I read an iteresting article in honda tuning about people spinning the bearing because the crank cant handle the high rpms that the vtec heads are meant to put out. whats the sense on going ls/vtec if you cant use the full potential of the head. If you build it right it is better than gsr but i think it will cost more. I also think b18 with b16 head is the way to go over crv. mine hasnt busted yet and i rev it past 8 grand every day. on stock components i ran a 14.9.

The b20 has a weaker sleeve design since its bored to 84mm but has the same stroke as the ls 89mm, but that doesnt mean you cant build a b20 with stock sleeves that makes power. You also have to consider that you need to build the bottom end so you can rev it safely. It all depends on how much money you have and how much trust you have in your engine builder/tuner.
