I have a stock f22, what is ideal turbo setup..?
I have been interested in turbocharging my car, i know i'll need manifold, flanges, turbo, i/c, piping, injectors, ignition, whatever.
I am looking to run 7-8psi MAX i dont want a fast car just a reliable turbo honda with slim to no detonation
What is the ideal setup? I think i can get the fmic of an EVO V and a t25 turbo pretty cheap. I favor small turbo because of fast spool. Again, i dont want to run lots of boost.
Thanks. Matt

I have 97 accord SE, and planning the same thing as you. But the hardest part was to find a manifold for my F22B2 engine and now that I finally found 1, it has a T3 turbo flange and not a T25. So now I'm stuck with either finding an adapter plate for the T25 to T3 flange or buy this T28 that has a T3 flange.
My mechanic gave me some advice/info since I'm planning 8lb boost on stock internals ( he assures me I can do 10lb np), to save $, I don't really need an IC. I may put one in later down the road since I am in FL.
So.. good luck to you.

intercoolers are bling bling!!!....even if its a teenie as one from an old volov or DSM, its worth it to have one, and you can pick a stock one up for dirt cheep at your local junk yard!!....as long as yhe engine is in good shape, and its tuned well, at 6-8 psi, the car should be very reliable

if good = very reliable and programable, than there isnt one....however theres various ways to tune the fuel curve.......i lost the link, but there was an excellent write up on turboing hondas (specificaly intergra, but itll work for any honda), on the advantages/disadvantages of each method....its all a balance of reliability and tuneabilty vs. $$$$$$$

Those two words in the same sentence tend to contradict eachother. However, properly set up and maintained you shouldnt have problems. As far as parts go, I do believe http://www.lovefab.com makes a custom manifold for the f22.

Yes, LoveFab do make custom manifold for the F22. But I'm looking for a log cast style for daily drive and they don't make it. They have the welded ones and it's about $900 shipped to me. I know, cuz I contacted them. *shudder
I'm on a tight budget *more shudder

Haha, I'll follow yours up after a couple of months, I have to get a timing belt change first.
For anyone who's doing the F22 boost: I'm doing stock internals, so I'm doing only 8psi. My mechanic said the Accord can take 10psi np, but I am not pushing my luck.
