obd conversion help!!!
ok heres my situation
i have a 1990 hatch back
with a y8 motor
this motor is running on the obd 0 computer ( which doesnt make sense but its working)
i recently purchased a chipped ECU that is obd 1
and a obd0 to obd 1 conversionn harness
i hooked everything up
car doesnt start
im getting spark and it cranks over but just doesnt fire up
i checked the ECU and it works fine
wat else should i check

well here it is...either for some reason something with your fuel system decided to rape you all the sudden...orrrr that conversion harness has maybe some kinda cross wire to where it can turn off the engine light and make the computer think everythings cool when its not so if u tried to hook up a code reader it wont tell u crap...or you just forgot something hooking it up....thats about it
theres only one wire on the harness where i dont know where to hook it up too
its called SCS service check signal (cel) basically
im not sure if this would be the reason my car wont start but i mean i should prolly hook it up to check the codes im getting
but then again heres my ? with the obd0 harness how can i check codes seeing as my new ecu doesnt have the flashing light that my old one did
is there a spot on the obd0 wiring harness to jump the CEL like the obd1 and 2

Ok this has been covered a ton of times but here it goes.

You can hook it to a switch or touch it to ground and it will show your codes.
Now for the no start issue.
Did you use an OBD-1 ECU, Dizzy and O2 sensor this could cause a no start. Also make sure your Dizzy wires are in the proper firing order.

i used an obd 1 ecu
its a chipped p28
i am using the obd2 dizzy and obd 0 o2 sensor..but the ecu is chipped to look for an obd 0 ( single wire ) o2 sensor
even tho im getting spark from the obd2 dizzy could there still be a problem with the dizzy

Who said you could use an OBD-2 Dizzy with an OBD-1 ECU seems strange to me to mix and match parts. Not to mention it would have been easier to buy a 4-wire O2 sensor rather than to chip the ECU to use a 1-wire but to each his own.
