Default distributer (SWAPING INTERNALS)

Hi there. I recently have had trouble starting my car in ther morning and at night (after i had gotten off of work) and was getting concerned with my cold start issues. at first i thought it was because of my high compression (12.5:1) but then realized that there was no way, it was takeing like 30-45 minutes on jumper cables.

so ifinnaly got it fired up and checked the codes and what do you knoe CODE 9 (CYP). So then with a new battery in my car thought it would help and it did but not the cold start.

so i decided to swap the internals from my old dissy (D15, 8 valve OBD1) over to my current one (b16a OBD1) no big deali swapped over everything shaft and all plugs. but now not only will my car not start but it has no spark.

so I am wondering if i did somthing wrong or what? I just got through going through the igniter switch and all of the other sensors with my test light and it resulted in a big shock litterally so i'm not trying to kill my self here.

ANY IDEAS?

Maybe your not getting enough ground through the motor, try connecting a wire from the battery to the engine. this might be one of your problems, because happened to mine too. there could also be many things, if you have messed around with the timing, it might be off, the alternator? the battery? but i'm pretty sure it would one of the first two things i have said.

after rebuilding the distributer for a second time. no dissy codes any more but now it sounds like like the rotor is turning for a while and then its like it gets stuck on somthing and stops???

anyone!?
