Default auto tranny question

how do you remove the shifter cable on a 90-93 auto? can it be pulled out of the tranny or does it have to be removed from the shifter and pulled thru the floor board? thanks!

Man its been a long time since I did one of those. If I recall correctly, remove a pin and clip from the transmission where the cable attaches to the lever. Work the cable throught the floor as there is a gromet there you'll need to deal with. Take the console apart and when you get to the shifter there is another link you need to remove to get the shifter assy off. Then remove two small mounting bolts and the cable assy should slide right out.
