Anyone thats done an H22 swap!!
Can you tell us future H22 swappers what parts we can use from a 5th gen Accord for both before and after the swap? H22 and F22?? Thanks, I'm getting one (H22) in a month, just doing some research.

that is beautiful! I'm just getting started in honda tuning, and the task of swapping an engine is very intimidating to a noob. I mean, all the possibilities of failure such as broken axles, mods that won't fit, a mechanic who charges too damn much or doesn't do it right- all these things worry me bc after suspension and body repair, an h22a is in order and I want to be a part of this great import action. I was just wondering, did you do that yourself or did someone else install it? Did you buy it from a web site? If so, which one? Someone told me to get a carfax for every engine I consider- seems like a good idea but no one in Memphis except for wades auto will do it. Did you get a carfax? have any engine/ mechanical problems yet?

thanks man.
I bought the motor local from a engine distributor. i changed the oil pump, water pump, timing belt, clutch and had new mounts put in. the motor dynoed at 240 WHP with a 75 shot. the motor runs very hard and I have never had any major problems that were not my own fault ( i bent valves misshifting racing my brother's s2k) but i had the head bulit.
here is a copy of my dyno.

my most valauable piece of advice is.. if you are not doing the swap yourself,go to someone that has done it and is repuatable. many say that they can do it, go to someone that has done it.

Well sure, you should try to get hold of a VIN# and find out why an engine was pulled out in the first case. However, this won't be possible, or very difficult with a JDM H22. Most people who do the H22 accord swap, install a JDM H22.
