Default Making aluminum heat sheild/air box for intake

I want to make a cold air box for my short ram w/velocity stack...I am going to use aluminum w/ insulation on the inside of the box..I did a search but the info was not ITR related

Has any one with an ITR done this???Does the peskey ABS get in the way???Will it work with the positioning of the intake and filter, since it sits closer to the motor due to the ABS???

Any advice or tips before i start???I would definatly appriciate pics if you have them..

Thanks

and the funny part is he lives in the US...

Go to Home Depot and get some roofing aluminum...they sell it in a roll. How you bend it is up to you, but a board with a hammer works fine (rest on board and hammer over).

first I made a template with cardboard, so I wouldnt screw up the only peice of metal I had. Then I cut and bent the metal. The tube around it is just some hose I had laying around that I cut up the middle and periodically zip tied down( also glued) . To hold the sheild on, I riveted a bracket that would line up with stock airbox holes, then bolted it down difficulty rating: -2
Just one of the many DIY I have found myself doing because I got bored. Not because I'm broke
