Default Dunno which head to port and polish? jdm gsr or itr

Ok i have 2 B-series head that i have an 95 jdm gsr and an 97 itr head which ones should i send to port flow to do an standard honda headwork which includes:
disassemble/ clean/ inspection, port & polish,multi-angle valve job, deshroud valve area in chamber, polish chambers, surface ,assembly.
The block is gonna be an jdm gsr block. And the cams i will be using is the 98 spec jdm itr cams. And any other advice will help me out.

Send the GSR head it will make more power.

I'm wondering why a gsr head has more potential then an ITR?

itr may have a better valve job to start but having a good valve job done negates that and same with the factory p+p.

i would say because of 2 things, the gsr has a higher port than the other heads allowing for a more gradual transition (the 90 degree turn from entering the intake port to the chamber is longer/more gradual) and a better combustion chamber.

ask any top head porter, they all say GSR head

plus, the GSR has smaller combustion chambers, nice for getting .2 extra compression

The GSR head has pentroof style chambers. I'm sure Port Flow could weld the ITR chambers and get the same result, however it's going to be an added cost.

send the gsr head into portflow and use that, and sell the itr head w/ factory port n polish.

if you think about it, you can sell the itr head for more STOCK wise

Use the GSR. Hands down, the engine of choice for the racer and broke.

it varies, mine took a week in the winter, He said during the summer the turn around may be about a month...depending on how busy he is...

Tom himself says he prefers the GSR over any other b-series head just because of the added compression from the squared combustion chambers..It wouldn't be cost effecient to square the chambers on the type R head.

just go with the gsr head for added compression.... unless you have a "set" compression ratio with certainn pistons for your setup with a type R head..etc..
