Any one know of a good synthetic replacement for the MTF
I already bought the honda MTF to change my tranny fluid with, but I was wanting to use maybe a synthetic like redline. I know that the weight on the Honda fluid is closer to a motor oil as a matter of a fact they recomend using 10w-30 I think if you can't get the honda MTF. So with honda saying that I am scarred to run 80 or 90 weight redline. Also I checked with honda about a limited slip additive for the prelude type S. It should have the same diff as the ITR. Honda said that the recomended fluid was just there MTF. I hope that they are right. Some body stop me if there are wrong. I don't trust some of these guys that work for honda.
I agree
stick with Honda MTF

How about that GM Syncromesh trans fluid. I saw in a few posts some guys recomend it. I was thinking of trying it out my next trans fluid change.

I asked the same question here a few weeks ago and everyone sort of said to stick with Honda MTF. I want to use redline in the diff because of the success I've had using it in my past cars. I posed the question to the tech guys at Redline and they recommended using the MTL fluid instead of the their gear oil. I'll use the MTL during my next trans fluid replacement. BTW, Honda recommends using MTF (or motor oil) in the trans, like any other Honda trans, so I'm assuming there are no special needs for the LSD in the R.
