ek hatch obd2-1 harness runing on chip p28 throwing heater o2 code wtf?
ok im stump on this one
its a friends 96 hatch we swap a ls-v in it and the mil lamp is on
its runing on a chip ecu so it shouldn t be on.
we swap ecu s it runs fine on other cars with no mil lamp but on this car it throws the o2 heater code wtf?
we even try conecting both o2 and still no luck
we have swap out jumper harness and ecus all works great on other ek cars
but on this car it just throws a code 1 o2 heater
anyone have this problem before?
inspite of the mil lamp the car runs great and pulls vtec also works

Being that US OBD2 honda's use two 02 sensors, are you sure you're using the primary 02 and not the secondary 02 when using the OBD1 ecu?
yes
i double check that already
i even use my dvom to back probe and made sure whick o2 wireing is which.
but my point is with a chip ecu u don t even need an o2 hook up.

well, yes you do need an 02 hooked up when converting to OBD1 (P28's do look for an 02 sensor), a 2nd 02 is what you don't need when converting to OBD1....if thats what you mean.

True, but not all OBD1 programs have the heater side of the 02 disabled (code 41). The mugen/skunk OBD1 program does for sure.
What program are you running exactly?

hey i have a 96 ek with same problem(gs-r motor)
i was told you need to run the 4 wires directly to the ecu because the pins on the dx harness are different then it should turn off im running a chiped p28 and code 1 comes on when i decelerate but when i restart the car the check light dont come on.

hmm.....when i back probe all the wires match up
then again i have other cars with this setup with no problems and i swap jumper harness , ecu and both o2s from the other car and same thing happens
beside on the other cars the o2 doesn t even need to be hook up the mil lamp is off
i think im getting tired of this i might just swap engine harness!!!
