Default hit rev limitor in 2nd..... now car is acting up..

me and a friend were on the high way, and we took off from a red light. and my dumb *** fault didnt shift, and it hit rec limitor. now when i am driving it almost seems like it is running on 2-3 cylinders. when i was going back to my house i was in 3rd and when i would accelerate a little it would make a poping noise. can anyone help, any ideas what i did. i also poped the hood and was feeling above each cylinder on the valve cover and spark plug boots and above 1 and 4 cylingers it was kinda eratic. feels like they maybe missing? thanks

make sure none of your spark plug wires popped off the dizzy. Also, make sure your having spark through all the plugs on your dizzy. If not the case, then perform a compression test or even better a leak down. Might be better to check these before removing the head.

i bounce off my rev limiter all the time, never had any issues (knock on wood). run a compression test and report back afterwards.

heyjcox i am sure he probably has a tach, but it might not be up to your standards of 5 inch monster tach in your 16.6sec civic.

Stop trying to be m4d tYt3 vT3cH y0 and get yourself a shift-light. Do a compression test and check what compression numbers you get. People these days...

he is a accord lover, he dont know what he is talking about, the only install he has ever done was on his grandma's car. He put a steering wheel cover on it that said Type R. he may claim to know but doesnt know the differents between a hole in his head and the whole in his exhaust. he loves to blow smoke.

seriously folks, hitting the rev limiter is OK. it is there for a reason, i bounce off my rev limiter all the time at autocrosses (nearly every weekend). car still runs like a charm.

Same here. Bounce the rev-limiter all the time at autox and never think twice about it. Have more of a cooling problem than anything else.
