3 point or 4 point harnesses for my crx???
gonna get a set of racing harnesses for my 88 crx and i was wondering if i would want a set of 3 point or 4 point. i want to plug them into a seatbelt so i can lean forward in my seat and not be strapped in. also what is the best way to install them, and does it really matter what brand i get? thanks for the info

I suggest a no-point harness, unless you have rollover protection.

Considering you have no rear seat belts, this will be rather impossible.

Mounted to a roll bar.

It won't matter if you don't have a roll bar, because they'll all do the same thing in a rollover - crush your neck.
Sense a trend here?

get a roll bar and 5 points so you cant "submarine" which i'm confident would happen more in the street driving arena then in the racing arena, well at least from what i have seen.

OEM 3-point belts are safest for the street without rollover protection. Not to mention, they leave you free to operate all controls and don't limit your peripheral vision.

I went with a SPearco 4 point, got it for cheap from FourthGenHatch
I just bolted them into the stock seatbelt location, they fit/work/feel great on the OEM crx seats, just slid under the head rest and come across on the sides,
Oem seatbelt locations work perfect to me
Mounting on a roll bar would be best Im sure but this is great for me, look sweet to

If this is strictly for autocross go with what ever you want it will be huge improvement to your times.
Get a 5 point if you intend on doing HPDE with it down the road just remember you will need a roll bar to use at a Hpde or open track day.
Also never ever wear a harness on street. If you roll over best case scenio is you can DIE, worst case you can end up like christoper reeves.
Quite simply you will be smashed in roll over with no were to go most defianately snapping you neck high on the spinal cord.
Also harness are not meant look to "cool" they are driver aid and safety device.

****, that's more expensive than buying a good harness! Of course, if you buy a big enough boot you can wear it as a helmet.
