last night my dash lights dimmed
then when I used my blinkers the radio would flash on and off
then the radio just shut off
headlights got dim
then my autometer tach started flashing with the blinkers and brake lights
then my car starts to spitter and sputter, like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders.

what could be wrong? any ideas?

 

And just now when I started it up to pull it in the garage it ran fine, no sputters. It reved up just fine.

Please help.

 

battery? alternator? main relay? what other symptoms?

 

lets see, when i turn on the headlights it robs power from everything, I'm going to check all the headlight grounds and such later. it runs and works fine untill you turn on the headlights then the speedo starts jumping the temp goes to full hot, radio flashes when blinkers are on. then just shuts off totally. then it started to take power from the ign system i believe thats why it started sputtering last night.

battery connections. or some other bad connection somewhere. (ground)

have you messed with anything electrically lately?

 

It is the battery or the alt. If it only occurs at night or when its cold out then its the battery. If it happens all the time then its alt. it could also be the dizzy

 

the only electrical stuff I messed with was wiring up the vtec stuff for my swap. it does only happen at night. I'll pull the alt and have it tested, and maybe buy a new battery. Thanks for the clues. Today I went through and double checked all the grounds, and made sure they were solid connections.
