Ive got an 89 DX (D15B2), it has 58k miles. On a cold morning when I start it up, there is subtle clicking noise, it clicks with the RPM, (sounds like an axle click, but comes from the engine) it goes away after about 10 minutes and I won't hear it for the rest of the day. Any idea on what this noise might be?

 

i have it to, i was told its just a valve adjustment that is needed...

Cool, that might explain it.. The car has never had a valve adjustment... Seems right, the colder it is the looser the valve lash.

Anybody else's EDs do this? I hope its not sick...

Nope, not mine.

 

mine doesnt do this (er, i hope atleast), but i'd suggest doing a valve adjustment.

 

Reason I asked, I found **** stuck to my dipstick... glittery ****. Engine only has 58k on it.

 

uh oh...u might have worse problems then.
