Default BAD IDLE

hi all..new to h-t..novice to other honda motor forums..

this just started happening recently...whenever i start my car..or anytime its just in neutral..the car revs itself..its a 89 civic si with a sohc zc swap. switched out my gauge cluster for a dx one because my gas gauge was busted..so I cant tell you exactly what the rev's are at..but it sounds like it goes to 1,500 or so. it just goes up and drops..up and drops..up and drops..for as long as its in neutral. in case someone asks me to check the ecu..the only code i'm running is 7..tps. its not really a big issue..but a bit on the annoying side. thanks

another question i havent been able to figure out the answer to..whenever i let off on the gas my shift moves..like visibly moves..a lot..not out of gear or anything..just moves a lot. any ideas? friend said trans mount.

thanks, mike

Ur idle problem is the auto choke. Its perfectly normal with zc's. I got a DOHC zc and when i turn iton cold it revs at around 2 until its warm when it drops down tot he 750. (gradually drops as it gets warmer until 750). Just dont thrash it when its cold
