94 Legend D4 flashing, speedometer needle fluctuate
Some one please help... 94 Legend has [D4] lamp flashing, speedometer needle fluctuate, and code 4 was registered.... I have checked crank sensors and CYL sensors they each has 730 ohm (in spec), also checked wires and connectors from crank sensor to ECM they seem ok, could not find any broken wire and loose connector. After clear memory and restart, [check engine] and [D4] do not light up, but [D4] flash when speedometer needle drops to zero and fluctuate while driving and code 4 was registered. At first, I thought the speed sensor (VSS) problem but code 17 was not regestered. The problem occur intermittently and each time code 4 was registered. Some one please help ... Thank.
Is the DLC connector same as Service check connector ?. I did jump the Service check coonector (under the passenger side glove box), [Engine check] light up but does not flash only [D4] flash code 4 for crankshaft sensor. I never did get code 17 for the speed sensor VSS. Thank you for response.
Ok I misread your first post. I thought the CEL was giving you code 4. If the D4 is giving you code 4 that should be your speed sensor. The codes for the cel and d4 light are different.
I have Code information for ECL from Haynes Acura repair manual but it does not list codes flash for D4. where can I find these information ? Thankyou.
You're most likely going to need the VSS electrical repair kit. It will fix your bouncing speedo needle and get rid of the blinking D4 light. Drop me an email and I can get the part number for you tomorrow if you want.
