Default Going price of 97 r's?

I just got back from the dealer(chicago subs) who has two, 97 w/40K and 00 with 20K, when i called they told me 17,900 and 21900. when i got there, the priced jumped to 18995 and 23500. hrm? anyways, what to expect to pay for a 97-98 r with around 50K miles.

thanks.

If they jacked up the price, this is what I would do:

Lower the '97 price to $18.5k and have 'em include 7yr 100k mi. extended warranty + car cover or fog lights + wheel lock.

All in all, you end up paying around $17k + ~$1,000 worth of goodies. (Of course, you can hassle, but sometimes it's easier this way.)

I looked up the prices yesterday on Kelly Blue Book, and it was in the 10-12K range (notwithstanding mileage).

I wasn't terribly please with those numbers since I own 97 #236!!

Oops, must not have been KBB, but one of those in another thread the other day did have values for a 97R (solly).

last I checked on kbb, they didn't have enough "market turnover" for a value on the type R. I dunno now though, and I'm too lazy to check.

yeah, since the RSX came out the resale value of the integra has dropped a LOT. I know the ITR is a special car, but you'd have to sell it outright to get something reasonable. A new GSR was 22.5K a year ago (DEC) (and a LS was 18K) but last spring/easly summer they were selling for $18K!! WTF! Needless to say, I got jacked on trade in. There was a very evident 3-4K drop in worth that I've noticed over the last year.

Think about it though, why pay almost $19K for a 5 yr old car? I'd be looking for a '00 or '01 for $19-21.

i have a trade but since the dealer(and carmax) offered me nothing for it, i decided i have to sell my car outright. after that, ill be ok. i just wanted to get rid of my car quick and pick up this 97 because it does look sharp.

When I got my ITR, the dealer was also trying to sell my dad a GSR for 20k.

Do you mean Mullers woodfiled acura? If so, that is where I bought my baby new and I do know a couple of people there. Let me know because I don't know of any Hoffman Estates Acura, but Woodfiled Acura is In Hoffman Estates.

Here is the 4 door LS.
http://www2.nadaguides.com/ValueRepo...el=02006602050

I find it hard to believe the ITR is only 2K more than a 4 door LS, when the LS was only 15K to start! So the ITR has dropped 10K and the LS only 2K?? Sound fishy to me. They probably included at the stolen recovered shells selling for 10K on ebay.

I've only seen a few 97s and even less for sale. I would guess a good on is about 18-19K. Good luck on finding a 00-01 for < 20K.
