Where can I get these? I have a few dings down the side of my doors and on my fenders. I was thinking; istead if replacing them with OEM parts, I could either do the carbon fiber and paint it or get fiberglass (both for the weight reduction quALITIES) and paint it.

Any websites would help, but the best priced ones would be great!

Check out http://www.MMRUSA.com as well as http://www.speedmachineracing.com - those are two that I know of that sell MB Products fiberglass panels. I bought the fiberglass sunroof plug...fitment is good, the surface isn't perfect, but it's good quality gelcoat, ready for paint. Approx. 25 lbs lighter than the stock sunroof panel and mechanism.

I would do the sunroof thing but I like to open/close mine ya know? fo rnow I am gonna just do doors, fenders and hood if I can. Maybe later on get some FAL windows.

 

A couple of people make functioning carbon sunroof panels, jon at rpi in florida is one.
As far as doors I know one race shop in the drag fourm makes carbon doors.
And one company made carbon fenders, some guy in the picture post up top had them on his hatch.

yea, I knew about the carbon fiber fenders. I was looking into those as well. I saw those fiberglass doors on MMRUSA.com and I wonder if they fit like stock doors and if you can retain the components of teh stock door??? That wuld be awesome if I could.

I'm really looking for a way to get rid of the damn parking lot dings and lighten it up at teh same time.

Exactly what I'm looking for! I emailed speedmachineracing.com and asked them if tehy could make me a set of functional fiberglass doors. Hopefully I will get a response soon. I asked b/c they have fiberglass race doors on a crx on their site and they said they could fabricate anything.

 

how much is it??? do they make if for the 88 crx or 89+crx???

Those are nice, but I'm looking for some that retain teh door locks, windows, door panel, and stock door handle etc. I want the OEM qualities but the leightweight of fiberglass. I know it isnt impossible. Some OE cars are made of fiberglass.

No they are only made for full race cars. They must be used with lexan.

So this sux, because my car is a daily driver. My main reason for wanting fiberglass is to get rid of the dings for good. And since it is fiberglass it shouldnt ding anymore (like in the saturn commercials where the buggy hits the car and doesnt leave a scratch...is what I want)

 

that is not fiberglass in the saturns.
fiberglass is boats, it will shatter if hit hard enough

 

yea, I know fiberglass will break if hit hard enough....but I don know what the hell saturns are made of...do you?

 

its like a plastic/rubber with the color impregnated into it so it doesn't get the color scrathed outta it

 

hmmm. HAHA I wonder if I could get saturn to make me some CRX doors with the white paint code: NH-538? LOL. that would rock.

They are plastic.
If you have dings grab a dolly and body hammer

 

anybody got any answers to this? Looking for some stock replacements basically (just not metal)
