indeed...also...what could be more of a sleeper!? i say do some research (Since i have no idea about that accord) and make that baby fly. im sure because of its age...parts are a little cheaper....but at the same time harder to find. with whatever you do i wish you the best of luck

when a car is that old u I agree that you should get a new car.
If he put new engine and tranny, its gonna cost him at least 3k plus labor. With that amount, i rather byu a usde civic or something with a nicer body. 87 body are ugly and boxy.
But if you wanna have fun fixing it up and call it a project car then I guess it's a good idea.
Just my opinion.

This is true unless the topic can be found with search or is just trying to call attention to the thread maker (which this isn't). As far as the LXi goes, wish I were in your shoes
My first Accord was an 88 Lx (miss her dearly) and ever since I've gotten rid of her I've wanted another 3rd gen LXi. I say throw an H series in and have a blast!!!

the only company that i know of that makes mounts for b series into 3rd gen accords has a kinda shaky reputation with them.....i know theres someone on here whos got a 3rd gen cleeper with a b18 in it....
b is seriously the first thing id consider for a 3rd gen... boosting on an a20 ive heard can be decent, but with that many miles and for the price swapping in a ls/vtec or even a c1 would be much better.

If you have any temptation to go turbo just swap in a B20. Of course they are no B16 or B18 but once you go turbo that higher displacement will be nice. And if you wanted you could always throw on a B16A head. Plus the B20 is about 2 to 3 grand cheaper.
As for the body I think cleaner is better. No matter what you put on the car make sure it flows well with the body lines.

well actually I have another car, a 97 integra. yeah i was just thinking about putting some cheap engine it the car and make it somewhat of a reliable daily driver. Then make my integra faster and a weekend car....thanks for all the ideas though. I thought maybe like a civic engine or something. I have no clue what fits
