Default EX tranny onto D16Y7 engine

Hi!

I will have to replace the transmission on my 1996 coupe D16Y7... my question is...

If I use EX tranny (which everyone here recommend) will I need to use some different axles or will stock DX axles do the job?

Is everything a direct bolt on or are there any mods required?

Will a D16Y7 pressure plate and clutch disk (cos they are new) do the job, or will I have to replace them too???

I searched but with no luck...

Help cos my differential bearing started humming so this is a good time to move on to EX...

No mods required, you can use your old clutch and pressure plate. If your clutch is a little worn now would be a good time to replace it. And if you replace the clutch then you'll want to have your flywheel resurfaced (about $20 or so at any machine shop).

also, no axle swap necessary. i would recommend you getting a new clutch, just because now would be a great time to do it!

Well, the great time for replacing the clutch was 4000 miles ago...

I replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate and the bearing... I also resurfaced the flywheel...

But this sound started to bother me... it was like humming noise all the time... so I went to mechanic and all said it was WHEEL BEARING... I asked here and people replied the same - WHEEL BEARING... I replaced both wheel bearings and the sound didn't go away...

The only thing that can be next to wheel bearing is differential bearing...

And though it is not hard to replace once you get the tranny off the car, I wouldn't bother with it cos I can buy an EX tranny and have some PLUS from it...

I also think I will need to replace the axles soon cos the right one (shorter) is not straight... It is bent a bit and I think that caused the differential bearing to start humming...

But I have some Y7 axles in my garage so i won't have to buy new ones...

Anyway, if someone has some idea what went wrong with my tranny or anything else regardig the sound, I would be grateful for some info cos I want to sell that tranny and I don't want to sell it broken... I want to fix it and then sell it cos the tranny itself is in great shape... no grinding and 80000 miles on it with 6 tranny fluid changes...

This sound is very similar to NEW TIRES SOUND... it is deep WHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
all the time... non stop, no matter in which direction I turn the wheels, no matter if it is asfalt or off-road

I just noticed that it goes away above 70 mph...

it's not like HU_HU_HU_HU ...... it's WHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Wheel adjustment was made (everything is OK), tires are new (Dunlop 195/50/15), rims are new and wheel bearing are new (KOYO)

What can it be

when i did my tranny i replaced the pilot and throw out bearings, i also replaced the clutch with an act street strip clutch with a hd pressure plate. On 7lbs of boost it feels like a completely different car!
