well Tig welding rods can be purchased in different thicknesses, lengths and composistion. You can buy them online from welding supply houses (weldingsupply.com) or local hardware stores may have them. the type of rod you need as well as the type of tungsten you will use. Such as, if your welding steel that is less than 3/16 of an inch, you could use a 1/16" 2% thorated tungsten with a mild steel welding rod of 1/16" thick. However if you wanted to weld aluminum, pure tungsten is said to work better and you will need aluminum filler rod. is sounds complicated but its not, only way to get good at it is to practice! good luck.

Get a grinding stone ready so that when you spend around 10 minutes putting your torch and stuff together and get into the perceft position you can break it all down because you dipped your tip into your pool (or material)....

TIG (GTAW) was probably the most demanding type of welding I ever did. Needed great hands and footwork......**** was difficult.....

By electrons I think you meant electrodes.....In any event, Pure Tungsten (normally green tip) will work for most materials you plan to TIG weld (ie AL and magnesium). Any online welding supplier has these.....search and re-search until you find an adequate price.....
