how do I know if I have a 96 CX or DX EK hatch?
I got a 96 civic hatch, the owner doesnt know if it was a CX or a DX. it was red with no power steering, no tach, no power ANYTHING, no sunroof, not even a hatch dome light.
is there anyway I can find out what it is?
I tried search, but couldnt find any clear cut answers.
also is it hard to swap in a new cluster that has a tach? what type of wireing would I need to do, or is it plug and play?
thanks for any help
Craig

I have a flat black spoiler, with the car, but I dont know if it came on the car.
I got the car and it had shaved moldings and a molded buddy club body kit on it. I spent about a month unshaving the moldings and taking OFF the body kit. to put it back to stock.

No power steering or a/c in my 96 DX hatch...standard my ***.
Anyways though...check the the vin on your hatch. If the 8th number is a 2 it is a CX, if the 8th number is a 4 or 6, then it is a DX. This is for year '96 not sure about other years.
Example: 2HGEJ632TH100001 is a CX
Example: 2HGEJ634TH100001 is a DX
Now run out to your car like a *** and go check your vin!

Like mentioned before, just find a cluster out of a SI or even an integra, theres writeups in here that will help you put it into your car
and Integra clusters are sexy
