crx setup idea, whatcha think?
IM gonna worry about bass later but how does this sound for now. 6.5 inch infinity refrence compenants in the door and in Q-form kickpanels, so i would have two compenant sets int he front. powered off a 100watt by 4 amp havent decided which one yet. I am trying to keep a small budget here thats why the choice in speakers, however if you think something else would sound better in there let me know. Otherwise whatcha think of that as a setup, that will later have a ten in ch sub or something.
Sounds good to me, but if your trying to stay low budget...why 2 sets? Also consider that installing kick panels in your rex might limit the foot room. I have a 91 hatch & it's tight in there without any kickpanels. Another option for speakers is the mb quart reference line. You can get them on ebay for like $150 + shipping. I've had alot of success using quarts & you can't beat the sound quality. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!
instead of doing 2 component sets in the front, do 1 good set and install them properly. If noise is such a problem then i'd suggest some deadening for your car. it only makes sense to fix the problem instead of trying to cover it up by installing more speakers. your ears will thank you when you're older and you can still hear
I would tend to agree..however i have tried many many forms of sound deadining with MINIMAL luck.. i spent like 600 sound deadinng my celica (2000 gt-s) and it helped about zero over astock celica. I am fine iwth my hearing! i work near heavy machinery so i doubt i can do any more harm!
I would install both sets properly....just cause there is two sets doesnt make it improper!

my whole point was instead of trying to overpower the road noise, lower the noise floor so you can get away with lower volumes when you play. i still think a single component set would be better than a pair of components. if you could also give us a little more info about how you plan to install them properly that would help a lot too.
fyi, if you work around heavy machinery with no protection and listen to your stereo at extremely loud volumes you will suffer hearing loss when you're older

well most of the noise comes from windows being down due to no AC so the noise stays! that aside I am not totally sure where the best place for the tweet is, more then likly flushed or slightly angled in the door in the upper section that is flat by the dash. The main driver will be in a small seal enclosure(fiberglass) in the stock speaker area, depending on depth issues i may have to take the stock grill off and form it there, since i am no good at making stuff like that look good it will look like booty but that is ok since this is my daily and i dont care about it. The other set would b mounted in a Qform kick panel. they would be powerd with about 100-150 watts a channel depending on the amp i decide to get.

a much more simple route would be to get a single set of components and make some fiberglass kicks with the mid and tweet in there. if you plan on just getting the Q-form kicks then dont expect the greatest sound.

no i'm saying you should get a single 2 way component set installed in kickpanels made from fiberglass.
