Default Car still rolls while in park!!

My buddy just bought a 91 accord LX automatic. tranny shifts great but when the car is in park it still rolls.(have to pull E-brake)

I tried to adjust the linkage at the shifter in the car but it did nothing. Has anyone had this problem before?

The shift cable is probably rusted where it attaches to the transmission—it's an extremely common problem with 4th gens. It's possible to detach the cable at the transmission and soak it in PB Blaster and lube with white-lithium grease, but that's only a temporary fix; he needs a new shift cable.

So did you fix the problem? Because I have the same issue. If so what was the deal?

Doubt you are going to get a response from a 15yo post by a member that doesn't appear to be active.

Check that your shift cable is properly adjusted, that adjustment is under the shifter in the center console.
Verify that the shifter can easily be shifted down to '1' and back up to 'P' and vice versa.
Get under the car and inspect the shifter cable, if need be remove the lower bellhousing cover and verify that the shifter does indeed go all the way to park. Disconnect the shift cable to verify.
If the trans does go all the way to Park but the parking pawl does not function.
Parking pawl is spring loaded, if the spring breaks, or the car was placed into Park while driving, the parking pawl may be damaged and not function anymore.
I'd suggest fixing your parking brake for safety purposes.
Parking pawl is not designed to completely hold the vehicle. If another vehicle pushes a parked vehicle without its parking brake engaged, the car will move. Loudly, but it will move.
