Okay my 88 CRX has a total hood problem. When I am stopped at a stop light or something the passenger side of my hood rattles really loud. I'll put the car in netural and it will stop for about a minute then it will start doing it again. What part on the hood is broken that is making it do this. It is SOOOO annoying Someone help me!

 

its probably the lil hood lever that holds it up.

 

On my si the hood would rattle in the driver front corner. I got some sticky plastic square thing and put it on the underside of the hood where it was rattling. Problem solved

 

if you have an intake it might be your filter vibrating from the movement of the motor.................. hmmmmm check that out....

 

Check to make sure your hood hinge doesn't have play.
Check to see if anything is rubbing the underside of the hood.
Check to see if you still have the rubber stoppers on the edge of your hood.

If you don't have the rubber stoppers on the front edge of the hood then thats your problem.

If you do have it then you can adjust two things, first you can adjust the rubber stoppers, second you can adjust the hood latch in the middle so the hood will close tighter.

 

^ what he said and just to be safe check your passenger side engine mounts.

The noise is only coming from the top pf the passenger side hood. When I go out there and pull on the top of the hood something makes a popping noise and then it stops. But as soon as I close my door it pops out of place and starts ratteling again. HELP!!!

 

Sounds like a bad hinge then.

Hoods need to be leveled so they don't rattle so if one corner is not level then it will throw another side off. Creating your rattle noise.
