Guys, I am new to this site (very cool site!!). I am working on a 92 Honda Civic VX with the 1.5 Vtech engine. It is a CA car and has experienced intermittent Check Engine Light issues since new.

The dealer told my mother-in-law that "they all do that" while she was under warranty, and basically told her to pack sand!

Well after 12 years I decided to findout what the deal was. After figuring out how to get the Code (Thanks to FAQ ECU Codes for everyone) I found Code 48 was stored. I want to fix it for her but have no idea where the sensor is and what to do. I think it probably is a wiring issue because it is an intermittent condition.

Does anyone know where the sensor is in the 92 VX?? and what it does??

Please help me out. She is due for a CA Smog inspection by the end of next week and the smog guys won't even touch her car because it's got a Check Engine Light ON! Some smog tech . She likes the car and is the original owner. My father-in-law is ready to trade it in for a Nissan. Help me keep her in it!!

Bump. Did you ever figure out how to fix this intermitted CEL? I'm getting the same issue w/ my 92 VX and the smog is due.
