Default My '93 Integra: 1st taste of a Jap car

Me and my bro went and checked out a '93 Acura Integra, looking for a winter beater car and something fun. Well here is what we got. I normally drive a VW Cabriolet and my bro is finishing up a head job on a '85 Alfa Romeo Spider.

Motor needs to be really cleaned along with new plugs and an oil change:

Anyone think this isnt the normal size battery?? I think it put a dent in the hood.

This is really all thas wrong with the body:

I have a feeling were going to fix must of the rust and bubbles in the paint. Might eventually get a paint job but I kind of if anything awnt to paint it flat black. But right now we are going to get it running strong. He was talking about maybe wanting to do a swap for a B18C5 or maybe something else and evntually turbo it, but who knows.

But for the questions, I was told it needs to brakes but Im not sure if it does. The peddle seems very firm and I dont here any squelling from the brakes. I'll prolly still replace the pads and rotors with some from Autozone. But there is a strange noise when I turn the steering wheel right it makes a screaching noise from the left front. Im thinking it might be a wheel bearing but it wouldnt make sense cause it only happens when turning to the right.

Well it was black when I picked it up. But I took a air compreser to it and at 100psi the paint came chipping off and all over the engine.

Im going tomorrow to pick up new plugs, brakes and an oil filter. Should I be getting an factory oil filter from the dealer or is a generic one ok?

DA's are great project cars and to the flat black idea, I want to do that to a AE86 I eventually will get.

Did you know using the term "J-P" is offensive to some people, especially Japanese people. It's the equivalent of a racial slur.

Nice car btw, minus the rust.

There's also a rust spot forming on the lower left corner of the trunk.

Yep have been for 3years. Fun little cruiser that is really light.

I wrote Jap because I didnt want to write out Japanese. Big deal I shortened a word and was not trying to offend anyone here.
