How do you identifiy an ECU ?
I received an ECU to put in a B18c1 swap car. The motor was OBD2 so we ordered an OBD1 ECU and adapter harness. When I got the ECU there are no numbers on it they have all been removed. When I installed it in the car, the car ran a little funny but no worries because it RAN..... But there is no Vtec output..... I even hooked a test light to the Vtec output wire and when we hit 5K and up nothing. Does anyone know how to tell by looking at the inside or a certain marking to tell what I can use this for since it won't be the Gs-R. Thanks
first of all are you sure your vtec is wired up correct?
and why will they peel off the stickers. i dunno man, but sounds like they might have given you an ls ecu or somethin.

Vtec is wired fine, we check a secound ( Known working ECU ) and if runs great and Vtec works. I wonder what this is for.

I know there's a seller on ebay who sells "chipped GSR ecu" etc...but really, he sells chipped p06's and p05's. He peels off the lables so ebayer buyers dont complain about getting what they thought was advertised.
