im not really sure, people say in general swaps cost from like 500 to 1200... its all in the engine swap guide if you wanna check that out https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=878010

actually, im not sure exactly where i saw it once i started thinking about it, but I remember reading it somewhere.

I know around in my area $600 for labor is the average, I dont think I would pay much more then that specially if your just doing the same engine

I'm doing them here locally in Southern Cali for $750
That includes engine only and install labor!!!
I add on whatever the customer wants to swap out like T belt, h20 pump clutch, etc.
I use the stock trans unless they tell me otherwise, since most my engines come AUTO.

Take it to a shop if you can't do it, I wouldn't pay much though man. And just get a longblock if your tranny and such is all good

Show me a 1.5 that makes 160hp stock, and I'll show you a beachside lot in OC, with a private golf course, and norwegian lesbian servants that im looking to sell.

I was thinking that myself. I just put one of those in my VX and I love it. Got an EX tranny on the way too, can't wait for that. Anyways it cost me 650$ shipped to my door. I put it in myself. It's not that hard. You will learn A LOT too.

I do my own engine swaps...i did a d16y7/d16y8 head (mini me) and it cost me about 350 for an entire y7 long block, 120 for the y8 head, around `50 for lil gaskets and hoses, about 50 for belts, 125 for a new axel, around 60 for a new caliper, 30 on new plug wires, 7 on plugs, probably 20 on oil and filter, about 30 on bolts that i ******* lost (had to special order like 3 dollar bolts and nuts. ) 29$ on a new ball joint, 40 to get some ****** to press the old one out and the new one in ...about about 300 in beer.
i thought it would only cost me around 500, but i forgot to factor in stuff that gets broken or goes bad. like my ball joint just turned around when i tried to tighten it up. my axel broke because of my ball joint popped out because i wanted to ghetto rig it to drive around the block...not a good idea. also some friend of mine just started cutting the rubber away on my caliper and fliud went everywhere.

ha.. ur friend wasnt too smart i had to replace a balljoint before too doing a swap in a del sol. my dumb friend bought the car with a messed up engine timing went bad 1 month after purchase.. and car was in bad shape. got if for 1600 though.. but the front pass side wheel only had too studs and 2 lugnuts. was driving to the mall and the damn wheel went rolling down the road and the car skidded ha.. on the ball joint so once we popped it to get the axels out there was no going back.

it was a pain in the ***. it ended up taking 3 days becuz of all the little things such as the ball joint and what not. we put in the zc sohc vtec motor in there. with a dx tranny.. the gearing mated with that motor sucks.. bad. I think that everyone should do there own swaps they really dont take long and everything .. is mostly plug and play. and it saves u tons of money.

smartest suggestion i have is too label all of the bolts and what not everything else is cake.

I only had to pay 400 to have my d15b put in my 91 dx. I have already bought the conversion harness, si tranny, and p08 ecu.

off topic but I am getting a d15b and wanted to get a new oil filter and a few other things. Do I order a oil filter for a 92-95 vx? I know the stuff that goes on the head is a 92-95 si.
TIA
