Default b16-T, or b18C-T

I got hired at walmart the other day and started working. It's been my first job in months lol. I finally graduated and got off my lazy ***. Well my situation is i'll be pulling in 500+ a check. I automatically think to myself, time to build my car.

But im stuck between the two. I already have a JDM b16a, with bolt ons, and a few goodies. But it's not fast enough, so duh, turbo will eventually come along in the next twoish months. But i was thinking, why not just go GSR-T. But that means more money etc...The added torque WILL be better, but i already have a SI engine you know..Anyone have experiences with the two, to help me make my decision easier?

From what i hear, SI-T isnt so bad, but the TQ is still *****-like.

why not sell your b16 motor and get an ls motor? i think an ls motor would be a better choice for a turbo, and you could sell your b16 and probably get enough for the ls. plus, you'd already have a good trany.

Sell the B16a and get the GSR motor in a month.

Sell crack (I'm not actually suggestingyou to do this) and save that up.

Save up for the turbo after you loose it all and get out of jail.

If you turbo the B16 then you will always wish you would have just bought the GSR because you KNOW that the GSR would have been better.

Hmmmm.... GSR block with B16a head? Lower compression right?
Hmmmmm... and turbo with the better flowing B16a head?

Maybe forget it all and just change out blocks. Buy a block next paycheck and get some nice oversized forged pistons for it the paycheck after.
Then, go get the block sleeved and built up after that.

It will take some time for the block to come back to you.
That gives you time to save up to pay off the motor (have them start the work with a deposit).

So, pay off the motor and get it back.
Theeeennn... swap the B16a head onto it and drop that in your car.

Ahhhh - fresh STRONG engine!

it's going to take some time to break that in PROPERLY so that gives you more time to save $.

By the time it's done breaking in you should have enough for a big fat *** T3 or T4 Don't get a T3/T4 hybrid... get a BIG turbo because your block is built boiiii!
Get that.
Let it sit in your room for a couple weeks as you save for the intercooler.
Buy that.
Now you should have an IC and BIG turbo just making you sweat as you stare at them in your room!

Next, go get some engine maagement.

Next, go buy a good solid cast exhaust manifold, BOV, and wastegate.

Oh maaaan! You won't need a girlfriend because every time you go home and see those parts you will fall in LOVE!
So - next paycheck after that you can put all your goodies in the car and tow it down to a GOOD exhaust shop and have them weld in your charge pipes and down tube.

Drive that home and don't crash when the po-po's chasing you!

well, why does it have to be vtec?

lets look at the numbers. a gsr longblock is $1799, an ls motor is $749, and a b20 is also $749. you could do alot with that $1050. im not sure of prices on pistons and rods, but that might be enough to get some forged rods and low comp pistons. then you could crank the boost up and be alot quicker than if you just had a turbo on a stock gsr.

oh, those numbers are from hmotors online btw.

I would find a GSR bottom end, they go for 400-600 all day and use your B16 head.
If you do it that way you will save alot and be able to rebuild and add some goodies for what ya save.
