Default performance ignition

i know little about performance ignition but i do no that my car is a little hard starting and i want to upgrade it. I was looking at the nology hot wires and msd dist. caps and blaster box or whatever and msd street coils. Any thoughts about this? What have other people done to upgrade their ignition and/or solve hard starting.

upgrading your ignition on a stock to slightly modified honda engine is basically worthless.... honda is a engine company.. they made the engine before they made the car... they know what they are doing. just buy honda parts

Have to agree with FatJoe here. If you are having starting problems maybe your battery is holding a very good charge. Try to replace that and see if it goes away.

dont you deliver more current to the spark plugs when you are using msd..resulting in better engine response?

No, the factory ignition can burn the fuel just fine pretty much up to and sometimes beyond 300 hp. More spark won't do anything if the spark was already burning up all the fuel.

Describe what you mean by.. hard start.

I would start by testing your battery and starter. Most places will do it for free. It's not going to be ignition related.

lol, fixed it. I had hardly any gas in my car but it ran perfectly at normal speeds. I didn't know having low gas in the car could cause it to hard start. Maybe not enough gas in the starter pan i guess.

You can buy a plasma booster which will smooth out rough idle/hard start, as well as give more power.

Gee... Did you sign up to honda-tech just to advertise your shitty ebay auctions? Hmmm, I wonder...

No one who actually drives on the street needs plasma boost. Especially from Ebay.

The factory ignition works fine for a good amount of horsepower and an MSD ignition can cover anything above that.

Unless you are here for help or to give help go away.
