I wanna go LS Vtech, do you guys think that a cut out in the exhaust would give me power in the high end of the power band, if power at all. I heard that it would decrease the back pressure cutting down the little torque there is but give me horse power at higher RPM's. With tuning, would a cut out help VTECH or would it just make everything loud and annoying? I know it works well for LS-1's and Subarus, but what about the B18 w/Vtech head?

 

Don't do it. The very little power gains will not be worth all the noise and trouble that thing will make. if you were turbo on the other hand, than its cool.

 

first i think you should learn how to spell VTEC....not vtech like the phones and all that gay ****. and second i dont think a cut out in the exhaust will help much but if thats what you are into thats cool.

as for the question, don't bother with this if your car is relatively stock. Fisrt go through with the rest of your plans (ls/vtec?), then see what you want to do from there regarding your exhuast if it really is that big a power issue.

Seems like every damn day I see a thread with someone spelling VTEC as VTECH

It's quite funny how the only time somebody posts to these threads is when somebody spells vtec wrong..my god, ive seen this for a while now..just chill out and answer his questions rather than posting up pictures of phones..

And for the question he asked..it would just make it loud, annoying, and if you plan on getting it inspected anytime soon..wont pass inspection.

ls/b20 vtec (unless bottom end is built)
do it right, get a gsr/ type r long block.... or full swap

whats that one go for, i got the old model of it and the screen doesnt work for caller id....wait this one doesnt have a cid screen at all. u buy these things at circuit city or what?

 

To answer your question, no dont do it. You need some sort of back pressure and the noise will make it really annoying to drive.

Now all the other comments on this thread made me crack up. Love the pic of the phone.
